This was almost as good as a BIN Q deal. I just threw a number in the bid box and the good people the auction house took care of the rest. I won it Saturday and it was at my door Wednesday, they didn't even process my payment that fast. They must have known I really wanted it. It's not a perfect specimen but the colors are bright and it looks good on the wall.
That's a nice one Tom. I enjoy mine and yours looks just as sweet. A good, strategic bid obviously. Great Sign.
Nice one! I have the same sign at the scrapyard, I saved it but its in bad shape rusted away all around the edges right to the bottle but you can still see Drink Coca-Cola and most of the bottle so I still want it!
Good score Tommy, nicely done!
Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words. I couldn't find this particular goodie in the big book of goodies to gauge how much I overspent (coughed up 270 including premiums and shipping)
So American (even they now sell more Coke in China than the U.S.), so nostalgic. The colors are brilliant.
Hey Tom I think this sign is listed in Petretti's 11th edition page 223. Theres 5 different versions of this sign on that page alone, im sure one is yours lol. The measurements are slightly different than yours, but I think Petretti may have just used approx measurements on this sign ( 10"x 28"). He has it listed for 285$, check it out and let me know if you think its the same sign.
Drat !!! I don't have #11.... only 9 and 12. But I'll take your word for it. However there is a new guide on the market that I will be scanning in the very near future. It will be featured in this months 8-pack newsletter under Check Out earlycoke.com
Last year Coca-Cola had $65.64 billion in sales. China sales accounted for roughly $4.6 billion. 7%. Not even close to U.S. sales. The action is in North and South America, not China. Yet.
Of the world wide soft drink market (as of 10/2012); Coke and Diet Coke combine for a 41% share, Pepsi and Diet Pepsi combine for 23% http://www.statisticbrain.com/coca-cola-company-statistics/
Ooops, I thought we had switched to interesting facts of the brand we hold so dear...
I couldn't let the China comment go unchallenged. They are eating our lunch. Not drinking our Coca-Cola.
I can't believe I missed this. Please forgive me Tom!
I had a guy the other night, try to buy one of my Coke signs on ebay. I told him no!! America, as far as I'm concerned, is not for sale!
Oh, he was from Japan and wanted me to ship there.
Now hold on, isn't Japan part of America?
or is it that they own 60% of our nation park system
I know they love rock and roll and Coca-Cola! ;0)
Yes they do and they have bought just about every older Gibson guitar they could find over the last 10 years. Don't get me started.
