This came from SA today as well. It's an 8" tall x 7" dia. vase. The decoration is very lightly incised branches and what look like Chinese characters with unusual dimples at random spots. The color is a pale celadon green but a bit on the grey side too. You can see the hand thrown marks in the clay under the glaze. It does have a nice "ting" to it when you tap it. The bottom is different from anything I've seen on most pieces. There is a mark or signature on the bottom but it's illegible. A really interesting find ! -Mike-
So that's what you look like!!!
Yep.... that's a me ! Sure is hard taking a picture with your cell phone and not having it turn out looking like the before picture in a "Lifestyle Lift" commercial...lol
Could you try and get a different shot of the outside mark?
The bottom or do you mean the mark on the side of the vase itself ?
on the side, is it a three leaf clover?
No, it look like a Chinese writing character or some kind.
Thanks for starting my day with a smile and ending it with a good laugh my virtual friend. See you in the morning!

It's rained or threatened to every day up here too for the past 2 weeks. Not severe, but enough rain for flooding. The storm sewers back up here and flood the street with a foot and a half of water when the Black River hits flood stage. Muddy mess all over the driveway when it recedes, that has to be hosed off before it dries ! :P
Wow...what are you trying to do give me a heart attack ! Those are so "not" the run of the mill McCoy you're used to seeing. Looks more like the work of my Royal Haeger buddies. You'll have to have deep pockets for those. I bet you'll have a lot of stiff competition too.
Today's objective besides treasure hunting is going to Joanne Fabrics and trying to find some nice black leather for the seat my Morredi chair. If not at least some nice faux leather. That will put it back to it's original look :)
Good Luck. I about flipped when I saw the Cope collection. A little flooding never hurt anyone! We have ohio and muskigham rivers that join so I have been through a lot of them.
You can compare the mark with ones on- http://www.oldandsold.com they have a few Japanese marks.
