Yep it's official I need more wall space ! This one had to go into storage till the next rotation. I just can't resist these large pictures of boats. I don't think this one qualifies as mid-century I really don't think it much older than the 80's. Just a nice big (46 "x 35") painting of two sailboats running full sail in the wind. -Mike-

Actually, the distant 1 is running with the wind under spinnaker toward you & the other is close on the wind(or going tight into the wind). In nautical terms, one has the pointed end coming at you and the other has the dull end going away.

Thanks for the info blunderbuss2 that's really interesting to know the exact terminology. :)

You are welcome mikelv, I am surrounded by yachts & work boats and many friends are boat people. They keep me updated on terms like "round windows", "eyeless fish", "new-boat bruises" & which string goes to what. I even "weighed anchour" & it weighed 32 kilo.

Hey, and them thar walls ain't even straight! Beds ar even curved on 1 side! I have a positive attitude about boats. I am positive I don't like living on them. Now, I don't even like visiting them!

I've always wanted a boat but that will never happen unless I win the lottery or find that 2 million dollar piece of Chinese porcelain at GW ! ....lol

One of my luckiest days was when I was going to buy a 34 ft. sailboat & somebody beat me there with the money first!

I think I like the idea of owning a boat but not the actual up keep and expense it would require.

Mike, you have a healthy attitude toward boat ownership. Keep it that way.

My wife makes me turn around and leave if any shops have paintings like this. I could fill every space on the wall and that wouldn't be enough lol.

I gave this one to my Dad since he has lots of wall space in his room. I know how you feel I can't hang everything I have either. :)

Caper . Get rid of the wife & go sailing ! The definition of "wife" should begin with "Temporary --- " ! LOL !!
