The doll was in need of major repair, found at a huge estate sale. Luckily, the doll and her un-attached leg were both in the same box filled with dolls in one basement of the huge two home estate sale., because there were so man dolls all over the place in over 20 different rooms we happened to find both pieces as well as an italian Brevattati doll in nr mint condition in a box with the legs sticking out. Because the two dolls just mentioned were large, we bought the whole box without looking at the other 15-20 smaller dolls mixed in the large box. Turns out the box contained Maddame Alexander dolls, Welcome back Kotter dolls,Sonny and Cher, Mego dolls and more. Now since the leg was totally off, we decided to open the doll's body and repair her from the inside out. This gave us access to her crier as shown in photo three a vintage CatCry Crier. We also had access to the metal plates that help Cindy walk, we were able to easily replace the pins and bolts that held the doll in place after using our pat pending Orie-Ann Heat for hard plastic repair techique to reshape and remold the leg. with the leg back in place the knee functions as normal and bends when pressed hard, but remains stiff when straight, allowing the doll to stand on her own.
Our Hard Plastic Walking Cindy doll shown in vintage hand sewn oriental two piece outfit from Sacks fifth ave. Doll hair had been cut. undies, socks and shoes all original.
