I found this piece half buried in some over-grown brush area on my property. I was amazed it was still intact and had no cracks. It appears to be an oil lamp or lantern of some sort as there is a rusted piece of metal that appears to have a regulator and a wick coming out of the top.

The signature on the bottom appears to say "Donna 92" but I may not be completely correct.

If you can help me identify this piece or know the potter, please let me know. Like Mike and Frank, I like to get the back story on a piece so if people ask me about it, I have a story to share. Also, if you have any kind of appraisal value, that would be nice to know. I have no desire to sell, as it was just such a cool find in such a strange place. Thanks for looking!

Hi! I don't know the potter, but it is quite nice and well done. I would think that it is a local unknown potter/craft shop piece and that identification will be difficult. The date of 1992 is consistent with the type of collar and burner that is affixed to it . You can probably find a replacement collar/burner/chimney from a craft store and you'll have a fabulous complete oil lamp that you can use. RER (LOUMANAL)
