    I got this plate from my Uncle who has now passed away at the age of 98 a few years ago. I am assuming that this is a hot plate is what he had told me. He got the plate from a women that his wife use to take care of which makes it much older I am uncertain of how old it is. It appears to me made in Buffalo New York stamped on the bottom and the bottom is made of silver The plate it self is made of ceramic and I am not sure if the top is hand painted but if it is old I am assuming that it was.

      Your plate is not hand painted.... in the first picture look at about the 6:35 position.... there is a consistent pattern around the entire plate of two flowers in between the other design, except at the 6:35 position.... notice there are two flowers then most of another flower closer to the 6 o'clock position. This indicates that it is transfer ware. The pattern didn't match up because of the pattern vs. plate size. Hope this helps.
