I purchased this old metal smelting pourer in a lot of sand casting equipment recently. I love how relevant the markings are to myself and people I know are. My birthday is on April 22, my late grandmother was born in 1919, and a fellow CW collector Sean is from Appleton, Wisconsin.
The sand cast lot contained many different size forms and molds. I have the original molds for making 3 humorous ashtrays at a time, a large eagle, rowboat oar locks, and another for line cleats. I paid $30 for the entire lot at the same auction I won the GulfFlex and Fram signs.
The family of the estate told me that their grandfather would melt down old transmission cases to make these items I have the molds for.
Pardon the condition of my porch floor, I am in the process of repainting all the original German siding on my home, and floor is the last to paint.
Thanks Phil and blunderbuss2, I will eventually get the rest of the items posted.
