Sir Walter Scott; Waverly Novels Red Gauntlet and The Pirate published by Dodd Mead & Co. 1885 is a great copy of these novels. The Red Gauntlet is an intriguing almost autobiographical story of a young man kidnapped and brought to a village where he finds the head of the rebels that are planning to start the Jacobite Rebellion, is his uncle. Whereas The Pirate which is set on the Isle of Shetland where Captain Cleveland is shipwrecked and meets the Troil girls. The new acquaintance sets off a rivalry with a previous suitor and drama and turmoil ensues.
