This 7 inch Quezal vase is one of the finest examples of the gaffer's art that I have ever seen. The execution of the shape and decoration is just superb. As an added feature, it is made using aventurine green glass. The matte surface pretty much masks the sparkle which appears as tiny black dots, but is very apparent on the bottom and in the pontil mark where the iridizing spray did not reach. Is it experimental? I guess it's rather academic since the sparkle doesn't normally show. (1994)
I have this with a shorter neck..... posted on CW.
