This is a vase my Japanese Grandfather who graduated from Columbia University with a PHD gifted my Grandmother in Japan. He bought it while staying in America before the WW2. He was the first Japanese to graduate with a PHD from Columbia. I love the colours !!!! I hope you like it...I have no idea what kind of Carnival vase it is...but on Bay this is all I came up with.....

Pretty vase Lee. Do I see a Franklin Mint statue behind the table?
MattyG, , my mother has 6 Fredrick Remington's ..full size bronzes she does not know what to do with!!! That's only one of them! They are all on marble....lol!!!
Franklin mint Bronze Frederic Remington ??
MattyG, yes as far as I know...solid Bronze and they are huge and weigh a ton!!! We even have Remington silver etchings all original...or as they are called plates...framed ....signed!
Amber, XOXOXOXO
Hey Moon, how's the mini?
They are nice pieces Lee. A few of my friends fathers worked at the mint growing up and always saw them displayed in their homes. It sounds like you have 3 generations of collectors over there.
Amber, Mini is kicked off the couch and she is posting a piece right now...that you will like...helped her a little! XOXOX learned from you!
Geno, thank you!!!! Very proud of my Grandfather!!

TallCakes, thank you!!! Is this a rare one? Its amazing colours .....
It looks to be Green Carnival Glass from the picture that's what stands out the most around the neck to me. If so it's one of the harder colours to get. I have seen it once before & it was a whole dinner set also had ewer & glasses the lady didn't know what she had until I told her, Great for you if it is.
Zowie, you are correct.....it is a rare colour of carnival glass...I just found out!! XOXOXO I hope my mother puts it in her will for it to go to me!!! I wont get it any other way!!!
Justanovice, thank you for your loving....!!!
I thought that about some shell my mum had & in the end I just said if I cannot have them while your alive then I don't want them when you die. Mum never believed in wills or such & it would of caused problems in the family any other way. I'm not into that sort of thing to me it's all wrong.
Zowie, you are soo right and I don't want anything.....only if she wants to give it while she is around. She said she would give me her favourite watch her treasures Rolex. But I said not thank you...since I know my sister in law would want it....:0
It does not matter how close family's are all this garbage happens & it really is unnecessary. It has pained me so many times to see it. Have a great day
Zowie, that hard part is ..when leaving my mothers house with my daughters for the last time...I will be saddened that it was under unsettling times and not good ones.....and her pieces do not mean anything to me....
I had a feeling it might be like that so sorry in time mum will get to understand that you do love her, you always speak with so much pride when talking of your family may be the words you use to us might be needed their. It is easy for a outsider to see inside sometimes easier then someone being on the inside. This I know you will understand
What wonderful vase Lee! Take a look at my most recent purchase..

They're very similar. It's hard to tell if they're identical, i think the top of mine sticks out a bit more, but they're so alike I wouldn't be surprised if they're by the same maker.
