Does anyone agree this might be US President Andrew Jackson, obviously taken from an earlier image as in the corner suggests, a cane like Jackson Im just not sure , any thoughts appreciated.

Disagree-- doesn't look like AJ to me.
What is the backmark on your photograph? It may assistt.

Theres a question mark , he did not say it was ... the key words are MIGHT OR COULD BE>
READ posters DESCRIPTION:
"Does anyone AGREE this might be....".
Poster got an answer to their question.
Do you have anything to contribute to the discussion other than a critique of my contribution?
scott
what I was reading was he or she just questioning this photo and in the title was a and is a question mark.

theres my contribution
they could be ,maybe.
Looks mean enough to be Jackson.
LMAO!!!! Blunderbuss!!!
Thanks all, no back mark but if copied from another photo maybe this could be why I just wondered as this fuy seems to have the distinctive nose of AJ , the cane .. Anyway I shall list it shortly with my questions and thoughts soon .
My standard reply based on twenty plus years of antique image collecting: "Looks like RARELY is".
In order for an image to garner attention and acceptance as a famous subject, more than "looks like" is required. Most dealers and collectors look for provenance or a period ID (same or similar images published, period written ID, family documentation, etc...).
You can take a look on ebay and find many "looks like" photographs. Many are pulled by ebay and most that run the full time get little interest or bids.

Well, even if it isn't AJ, he still looks mean! Scan AJ's history & you will know what I mean.
He died in 1845, this is a copy of an 1845 photo of him: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d8/Andrew_Jackson_Daguerrotype-crop.jpg
So no, I don't think so.
But still a cool photo,
