    I believe the Date at the top right reads Dec 3, 1821 and the No. 7189. Just trying to find out more about this piece.

      There are good Confederate note sites that should cover this.

      Condition is terrible on your note, although for very rare notes even rags will be collectible.

      I do not know pre- war notes that well, but did find this example of the same note (different city and date):

      It sold for $50. Yours is in significantly worse condition. I don't know how the city of issue (Lynchburg vs. Portsmouth) or date impacts value or collectibility.

      When I 1st read this, I thought it was 1861.
