    (37 items)

Pic this one at a thrift store in Wash DC. I have a few, but I am in love with this one for some reason. My grand mother had one just like.

      TG, there is sentimental value.

The object evokes a fond memory.

There is no requirement that the object BE the exact one for a sentimental attachment to be established.

I can't count the number of times that I have heard a fellow collector say "I bought it because my father (mother, grandfather, grandmother, uncle, etc...) had one and I remember it fondly from when I was younger."

TG, if you don't understand that his looking at it brings back good memories, I give up.

The 1910 Coca-Cola Girl drawn by Hamilton King is an iconic image. I have the tip tray and enjoy it immensely. The early lady subjects in Coca-Cola advertising don't always translate to today's standard of female attractiveness. But I think this one does nicely. Your grandmother no doubt remembered a time when ladies wore hats and dresses no higher than ankle length.
