    I LOVE these!

I got this pair of lamps from a sale at a historic home in Richlands, N.C.
They are case iron, gold paint trim (which is fading) hurricane globes, and on back it has the letter "D" and "Art Palace 1812." I can't find any information on this. The cords are original and have A.I.W.C. on both of them.

One is a male holding a branch with leaves and the female is holding a rose.

    Both work.

if anyone can help me identify these, i'd appreciate the help as i'm curious as to their origin

Not Victorian, these are from the 20's-30's made of spelter metal, cold painted. Why I say 20's-30's is that American Insulated Wire Company was founded in 1924. Can find no record of Art Palace, the number is proberly the model or cast number not date. Dave

My Dad also owns these lamps. They appear to be silver plated and belonged to my grandmother. Agree with Dizzy relative to age. No real idea relative to value, but would like some idea.

I have the male figure with a different original lamp mount. Mine is over painted white a long time ago-the white paint is distressed. I've tried to figure out what this was and I agree that the ' date' is not a date. Mine appears to have been originally gold plated. I think these are from around ww1. Anyone know what Art Palace happened around that time? Art Palace makes you think of expositions....I'll keep looking.
