It's hard to believe how many of these carvings end up in the junk pile. This one is a salvaged wood carving of a mermaid. She's been so polished and worn by use that she feels like smooth river rock. I think she's beautiful even with the rubbed nub of a nose.
I know this will sound strange I think she is ugly but beautiful at the same time for all the love that show's in her wornness for 1 thing. I just love when you can feel the smoothness from being handled.
Thank you Zowie and Tony:)
Thank you Zowie, I have a tendency to find beauty in odd places at times and wasn't sure if anyone would agree:)
Zowie that's not strange at all. If you ever seen the movie, The King's Speech, it seems the wall steals the show as it is often mentioned when the movie is discussed. It to is so ugly that it is beautiful. A link showing it: http://definitelygolden.com/2012/10/about-a-wall/
Take care,

That room had incredible textures and light, and who wouldn't love those windows.
Thank you TubeAmp and vetraio for the love:)
Thank you Phil:)
Thank you walksoftly:)
I do it looks to me as if it comes off front of ship
I was thinking the same thing, but wasn't sure how to verify it:)
That I cannot help you with unless Alan Carters collectables can I think that is were I first heard of them from
It breaks my heart to think of things like this in the junk. Especially this one, she's beautiful
