I'm trying to get any information about these 2 pieces.

I recently purchased these two pieces at a garage sale. I purchased them because I really like the character they hold. However, I do not know anything as far as its history. Can anyone please give me any information in regards to the era, age, manufacturer, location where it may have been made? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. I would just love to learn about its past!
