I found this little covered hard paste porcelain box at a rummage sale today. The mark on the bottom looks odd, kind of Chinese or Japanese, but just off in some way. Does anyone know what language it's in?

Thank you very much vetraio, I wasn't sure because the signature seemed too long to be Japanese or Chinese.

I think there are just three characters.

This is completely new territory for me, I have absolutely no background or knowledge in Asian antiques.

Most of the Japanese and Chinese marks I've looked through break up their marks into two rows, and this signature seems to have more swooping lines"Thai?"Does anyone else see a smiley face snake in the center?:)

It's Japanese/ Chinese cursive. The text is written vertically. Photo 4 is upside down.
