I found this little turtle for a few dollars the other day. Looks like sterling abalone marcasite and the eyes are some kind of redish stone. Not exactly sure about those. Enjoy!

I love turtles I see yours has a .823 on it which is usually European so if your stones are Marcasite I would then say it's a good chance the eyes are Ruby & shell is Opal I am always subject to be wrong

Hi zowie and amberorse. THanks for the comments, the first time I looked at the piece under a microscope I had a feeling the eyes were rubys. I didn't want to jump to any conclusions. So could this be a valuable piece? Thanks everyone for the loves!
Can I ask where you see an .823? I am pretty sure that is a .925 no????
I clearly see the 925 but what is the other marking to the left?

Defiantly .823 the other marks are initials of maker or company as many well known makers worked for different companies find this out & maybe you can find designer. Yes they could well be Rubies

I have none either, lol, and don't think i'm picking on you or being a meanie, we just happen to have a difference of opinion twice in a week. I apologize in advance if I was taken wrong. By law I have to wear glasses when I drive but see small stuff very well, and have a professional LCD magnifier for the nano-sized stuff. xoxo
