I found this bottle while hiking with my children. We are excited to see when it was made. We are thinking it is old. but how old? It has raised lettering on the neck that says DOUBLE COLA and painted below that it says DOUBLE MEASURE, DOUBLE COLA, DOUBLE PLEASURE. On the back of the bottle printed in white paint it says A REAL CARBONATED COLA BEVERAGE, CONTAINING THE EXTRACTIVE MATTER OF KOLA LEAVES (DECOCAINIZED) BLENDED WITH NATURAL FLAVORS DOUBLE COLA BOTTLING COMPANY, KNOXVILLE, TENN. I can't read the bottom raised letters. Also, how can I clean the inside? I've tried sand and water, soap and water.
Double cola, the only thing i can tell you is 1960 tallest drink you could get for a nickle.
I have this same bottle and would love to know more about it, too.
looks identical to the bottle that i found but my bottle had no paint or raised neck writing. but i did have raised writing on the bottom of the bottle denoting "Duraglas" and the words "pat applied for" and the numbers 3, 47, and the number 2 on the bottom below duraglas.
1952, give or take a few years.

I use a wine bottle cleaning brush I bought on line, there are many companies carry them. I like them because they have a long handle and will get into the soda and other long neck bottles.
Hello i have same bottle as pictured, did anybody ever find info about this DOUBLE COLA bottle. My bottle says it was bottled in Phoenix AZ by DOUBLE COLA BOTTLING CO.
