I am not very familiar with glass so I thought I would post and see if you guys could point me in a direction to research.
I friend has some glass that she wants me to find out about so I am sure I will have more to post soon.
The above figurine is about 11" tall.
Your figure was made in Italy by one of the glass firms of Murano. I'm not sure which firm made your figure, but it looks to be of good quality. These figures were typically sold in male / female matched pairs, but they are collected as pairs and as individuals alike.
Yep, its probably from the 70's or 80's, or even later if that was written with sharpie by the firm who made it. Post 1970's though.
Google "Murano glass figurine." I know that Venini made a lot of those figurines using that opaque white glass, but I think they signed everything. Look for an acid-etched stamp up in her dress, might be hard to see. You might be able to ID the firm by scanning through a bunch of these on Google Images and looking for that moulded face, that's what I'd do if it were mine.
Excellent advice! Thank you both twentiethc and Stillwater. I'm off to do a little digging.
Thanks for the love

Hi! Many of the older ones had gold, silver or copper " Aventurine" in them and yes! they were usually paired and yes, came in all types of costumes. I have provided a link to one of my uploads that has one in the background. RER(BOB)
