I bought this girl some weeks ago. She' s made out of ceramic and she sits on a gold tone metal background. She's in absolute great condition.
I think its a scarf clip. Its pretty big: about 7cm high in total. So pretty impressive when worn. I'm not sure about its age or origins. Does anyone have an idea how old this is? Thanks a lot!
Thanks petey, mustangtony, walksoftly, vetraio50, blunderbuss2, Moonstonelover, Manikin, freiheit and claudia for loving my jewelry!
The hairstyle and hat look to be from 1940s.
Thanks davyd286 for your comment. I also thought it might be 40's but the hat made me think she's a Japanese girl and so it could be later.
Oh my I just looked at the first picture and you can see the letters 'NICE' on her belly. I never noticed that before. I guess its Nice as in the city in France. There goes my theory about the Japanese girl.
Thanks bratjdd, DrFluffy, purpledog, sarahoff, valentino, toolate2 and everybody else for loving all my jewelry.
What a lovely dress clip! I think it's French, and possibly made by Doliet, in Art Deco style!
I have seen a number of these ceramic brooches with gold-paint set on gold tone metal, and some are marked Doliet.
I have two brooches in similar style, but with animal motifs.
Thanks on the info Katzl!
