My Uncle Bill gave this to me as a child about 30 years ago....I have always wondered what it is? I have treasured this since, he was a wonderful character, and very talented antique collector. My greatest desire is to understand the story behind the imagery, which appears to be a wedding, or courtship of some kind. Was this traditionally given as a wedding gift?

Diameter = 5 3/4", height 4 1/2". Is this hand painted, what is it, where is it from and how old is it?

Hi and welcome to CW . What is stamped on bottom ? Very beautiful !** There is no evidence these were used just as a wedding gift but I could see a friend of lady getting married give it as a gift .
