(1 item)
I'm looking to learn more about these two items. I am NOT looking for appraisals, my husband and I are just looking to find out as much as we can about what we have. We aren't looking to make money off of them, they've been passed down through the family and we would like to keep them in the family at least a little longer, we're just looking for someone who knows about them. They're both solid pewter, measure about 3" by 2", and have been converted into belt buckles (they were like that when they were bought a long time ago and that's about all we know about them). On the back they both say "SOLID PEWTER" and "DORY 10801." The one featuring Lincoln says "United States Postage," 4 cents, and has Lincolns signature. The one with the bald eagle sitting in a nest with its eggs says "American Bald Eagle," "U.S.," and 6 cents.
Welcome to CW. I am sure someone on here can help you :)). Nice pieces!
I appreciate both comments, thank you. We didn't figure they were worth much, but we couldn't seem to find any information on them. They are very neat, though.
At first I favored the Lincoln one, but once I really looked at the Bald Eagle one and saw all the detail- the feathers, the nest, the egg and the baby eagle- I realize now how nice it is. :)
