This lovely amber ring was a gift from my wonderful brother. He has had to travel overseas for his job so I am unsure of which country he may have picked this beauty up. It is marked 925 and am reluctant to clean it because I kind of like the affect the tarnish has on the detail.
Thank you blunderbus:)

The ring could be Polish and it is supposed to look dark in the crevices, do not clean it.
Hi Sara,
Strikingly beautiful.
I love these Amber pieces.
I've just listed one, which I'm pretty sure is Amber.
It can look so different though, i wonder if different types of Amber's have different names?
Thank you vintagefran for the love and the kind comment. I would never consider myself an expert on amber but I do know they have different names for the colors. Honey, cherry, butterscotch or egg yolk, I guess there's an even blue amber. I read an article on how to tell if it's real, something about washing it and smelling it. Fake amber is supposed to give off a chemical smell. I don't watch television so my time is usually spent learning about random items of interest:)
I almost forgot green and white. I have one butterscotch amber ring that has a touch of white in it and butterscotch happens to be my favorite of all of them. Glass and stone have a coldness when touched but plastic and amber are always room temp.
Thanks Sara.
Amazing how different Amber can be, i have some other pieces which don't look like this.
Mines either Amber or plastic, not glass, like you say its not cold to touch and doesn't feel like glass. I'd guess Amber because its so brilliant!
