This Tiffany piece has considerably more detail than others of this type. Besides the eight padded and wheel-carved wild rose blossoms, all of the green leaves and branches are intaglio carved, giving the leaves a serrated edge. Plus, an additional fifteen leaves are carved into the gold background. On top of that, all of the thorns are also intaglio carved. It must have taken a great ammount of time and effort to continue moving this heavy vase into position for each cut at the copper wheel engraving lathe. (2009)

By the way, there is another book of Tiffany blown glass, mostly vases with a few bowls, called "Tiffany Favrile Glass and the Quest of Beauty" by Martin Eidelberg, published in 2007.

Tony- 60% of my collection is Loetz, so I need to post some of my "lesser" pieces in among the Loetz. I don't want to show all of the best pieces first. What's the fun in that?

The blue diatreta floriform vase in my profile box above is a piece of my work.

Tony- I posted my comments in a light hearted manner and didn't intend for it to be taken any other way. Sorry if I sounded angry. And, one of these days I will post some of my work.

How wonderful to be a talented artist is glass making - do please show us some of your creations, they would be most interesting to most, if not all of us on CW!!:)
Can I ask what part of the world you are located?
