Hi all can anyone help me with this age of either patch or pill box. I know it's not a box & is oval in shape but used box for wording. I know it is hand painted & enamel edging I believe to be brass as I have not cleaned it since owning it for all I know it could be silver but do not believe to be such. I have owned it for quite a few years now & have been looking on & off since. PLEASE HELP it's sending me nutty & I think I'm nutty enough already. Thanks all have a great day & stay safe. It looks as if I will have to get the camera going as soon as weather is fine. I meant to give Length 2 1/2 inches & height 2 inches. Can also see wear on base has anyone any clues.

It could be a thimble box, a rosary box and I think it's too small to be used as jewelry box.

I saw a few like this when I was researching my trinket boxes, Zowie, try that search term, trinket box, on Google, you will see a few that have the hinge like yours.
