I have had these pretty ‘Tapestry’ Moroccan Enamelled styled glass vases for a while now and have always loved them, they’re a good size and a lovely colour.

The enamelling is in excellent order which is always a bonus with vases this old vase and I am thinking around c1900??...the only loss is to the gold paint covering the ‘frit’ dividing and making up the each of the geometric styled panel.. and that is minor.

Standing approx..22.5cm tall or 8.3/4 inches.

    Thank you for looking...:-)

I like these a lot. The enamel work looks very eastern European to me; and the technique looks to be similar to Russian cloisene (sic) where they first laid down an outline in one material, and then filled it in with the colored enamels. It could have been made in Eastern Europe for the Russian market? A wild guess!

dasullywon.. !.. I am adhering on the side of Eastern Europe too! rather than English I actually have another a small blue one...have added a photo to show you and I agree the gold paint around the edge of the enamelling does have a cloisonné style to the look to it.. this style was used extensively to frame and highlight also a embroidery/sewing look to it....the mystery spreads maybe to Russia?........:-)))

dasullywon...I should say this one actually does have a mark on the base, which I should probably post separately to show, I had forgotten till I just picked it up now to place in front of the other two...:-/

Well the big clue is the decoration is all hand done, and in the eastern style. I think these vases would be popular in most of the region, even into Asia. I think the enamel work is excellent.

And of course the other major candidate would be English (De Morgan style; he used Moroccan themes too).

      So maybe Webb?

dasullywon..I have posted the base of the blue vase so that you could take a look at the enamelled markings on it.
