can you get a better pic of the way this piece is finished off. with the glare I can't tell what the pontil looks like?
    3. Greatsnowyowl Greatsnowyowl, 11 years ago
does it look like there are 4 evenly spaced divots on the base?
    4. Zowie Zowie, 11 years ago
It is so unusual that makes it appealing & agree about the loetz look

to me that looks to be 4 broken divots at the base. I only know of one company that finishes their glass like that and they are american. Lundberg glass.

I agree with GSO; I have an unmarked piece with the same four divots, and I am sure that mine is early Lundberg (early 70's). They did a lot of Tiffany and Loetz-like vases in the 70's, similar to the work of Charles Lotton at the same time. The base pretty much nails it as Lundberg I'd say. Love the shape!

Amber, I think so too!!! But in real....it's really different. Got it for $17.00. Xoxo

I think I have seen a couple of others with more iridescence, either the same or a similar shape. It is rare because it's early, mostly.

I have an unmarked one as well. I wrote lundberg and they confirmed it as their work. it's not a sign of early work though. it's from the 90's. I have some from the 70's and it's more of a regular looking divot on that one.

what is rare about it is that it made it out of the studio unsigned. they were concerned about it. I think they had an employee that was letting stuff walk out the back door for awhile.

That's what is so great about this site the things you learn.
