9.2x7.3x5.2 3.45 carats. Purchased in the early days of eBay for $21.00 no reserve auction. Those were the days.. I have never had it mounted but I am thinking about a ring or pendant with baguettes surrounding it. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I love Rubies with Emeralds... I also like them with seed pearls. Not a huge fan of it with Diamonds... But jewelry is so personal!!

Well thank you Dr. But I might be a tad to boyish for pearls. I was thinking about creating something for my first grand baby . She is due soon and since my family was poor we don't have family jewelry. I thought I might create something for her. It might be silly but I would hope she will treasure it.

Ok that makes sense. There sure are a lot of cat people on here. I should have used my dogs name but Molly is misleading and I would insult my dog. She's smart than I am.
So, just a thought.... How about a beautiful charm bracelet for when she is an adult? You can add a charm for her major milestones and present it to her when she is 18...

I am in the business ...and I would suggest a simple mounting for the Ruby.....bezel setting in 14 0r 18k rose gold.....if you have jewelry to use to melt down...and I can arrange that for you. Through the store I work with. They are very well renown for designing pieces..and pearls tend to yellow with age and use....Either a bezel set ring or pendant....very classic and timeless.
