This is a silver powder spreader (I don't know if this is the right English name?) from my grandmother. On the third photo you can see the hallmarks. First (left) I think a Minerva head, the middle one is a Lion passant as a Dutch silver standard mark after 1814-1905) and the right mark I can see a N which I believe stands for 1847.
But I'm not so familiar with reading marks. If there are needed more photos I can change of course. Who can help??
Was this used for sugar? My grandmother had one but round; she used it for sifting sugar into her cup.
hello Freiheit, yes it is for sifting sugar. We use it for sugar on cake or cookies or something like that. thanks for your interest and loving.
