I found this Antique Ladies Chair, one arm it has the original spring and stuffed seat. Someone told me it was an Eastlake Ladies Chair, but I couldn't find the makers mark. Any help and info is appreciated!

Sorry but I remember this type of style when younger if I remember correctly they are part of a larger extension that's why the one arm could always be wrong.

Eastlake style . One arm was off due to the large dresses ladies of the day wore so they had a place for dress to fall to one side . These also came in sets called parlor sets. A loveseat and a 2 armed mans chair . Date from 1870-1900 . Very nice find

Thanks, I don't see many one arm ones. An old timer was at my house today and told me he thought it was an Eastlake and gave an estimate. I couldn't believe it, but I can't seem to find people interested in it. Either they don't know what it is or the economy.

I think it is the economy . And of coarse it will take a certain buyer for this chair and that knows why it has one arm . Of coarse today ladies don't need that extra space so one arm maybe more difficult sell . It Hopefully the person that came to your house did not over estimate price . All prices have fallen in antiques so he may have told a wrong amount too . I will see if I can find one that sold similar to your's .

Interesting chair. Re. value, I would guess $100 or so at auction. There is a similar, somewhat less elaborate version on liveauctioneers that failed to sell with a starting bid of $80 in 2010, at http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/7996672. The issue is that this is basically a prop for a Victorian-era home, and unfortunately the number of collectors of such items has dropped off considerably over the past 10 years.

I was going to guess it came from Las Vegas. A place for people to sit after they play the one armed bandits........

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I let it go as part of a bundle with someone. I couldn't find anyone interested in it on it's own.

That's a good looking chair. I was looking at Eastern styles on google and there seems to be quite a variation here from $300-$1000. I wish you the best on your journey!
