The sign is around 6 foot long and 2 foot tall. Found it in a old barn and don't know anything about it. Looks like the letters PJC. Any help identifying it would be appreciated.

Could it be J C Penney?
I guess it could be, but I think they used "Pennies" as an advertising slogan early on in the companies beginnings. I was thinking more along the oil or gas company because of the shield emblem.
Not sure if it is relevant, but the colors match the old colors used on Pennsylvania liecence plates. Perhaps that P is for Pennsylvania.

officialfuel, I believe that you are correct. Each end of a old JC Penny sign had these, with JC Penny in the middle. Thank you all for your help.
