A friend found this clock in pieces and sold it to me for 7.00. I had kept it until a clock man saw it and wanted to trade for it. I traded him this clock for two others that he had and i regretted it right after i made the trade. I wish i hadn't done it. Then he saw another clock i had and wanted to trade me that clock for this one. Well of course i said yes. At this time he had fixed the clock and it works great. It is hanging on my wall but i know nothing about it. I need help.It is very art deco with a brass face with a hoot owl in the middle and an hour glass below it. It opens from the front and side. It has some southwest looking pieces on the face as well. The pendulum is also brass with the same owl and hour glass. The measurements are: 12" wide x approx. 30" long. Does anyone know anything about this clock?
Looks German Successionist. The motifs in the corners of the dial are typical of that movement. Think Germanic art nouveau. If there are no markings on the workings, that is more likely as the workings were cheap mass produced, to undercut the French and English clock makers of the period.
If there are answers YOU have them. Remove the pendulum and remove the movement from the case. Look at the rear plate and check for manufacturers logo or name. Come back with that info. It isn't rocket science it's initiative.
