This is an antique lock that belonged to my grandfather. It is the letters CS intertwined on the front. The key does not have a number on it. Does anyone have an idea how old this is?

The logo with the letters CS intertwined is actually S & Co. Note the small "o" to the right. This was Sargent & Company. Sargent is still around although nothing like they used to be with corporate mergers and takeovers.

Anyway. Nice lock. I have one similar, but mine is in bad shape. I bought it because the key looks sooooo... cool.

I'm curious though. Mine has a trick to it. Withe the keyways vertical, you insert the key halfway (it bottoms out) then turn the key 1/4 turn right and insert the key the rest of the way before turning more to unlock it. Is yours the same?
