Sneezle
(1 item)
This was in my mother's house as long as I can remember. She said my considerably older brother brought it back from Egypt when he was in the army. He did serve in the Korean war and to me the figures carved into the brass appear to be more Asian than Middle Eastern. It is heavy, carved in brass over red glass with a bakelite bottom. A little lever on the base turns the light on in the base and the top bulb. The bottom has a turn lever that plays a musical tune. It is approx. 13 inches tall not including the bulb. When my mother passed away this was an item I really wanted to keep we were never allowed to touch it as kids but I could never resist hearing the tune so my mother cut the cord off at the base. I have clumsily installed another and need to redo it so it doesn't shock me!! Any ideas on its true origin would be appreciated. Cheers
