This is an old yard sale find from about 30 years back. The tag on the head stock reads Ludwig Music CO, St. Louis MO. It has a home made tail piece on it and the bridge is home made and needs replaced. The drum is in decent shape, it is an aluminum and the skin shows some shrinkage and could stand replacing. It measures 22 inches in length and the drum is 7 inches across. I would really like to know more about this little banjo, so if you have any info on it please let me know. Thanks, Joe

1920's I think what you have there is a banjo, could be made by the well known firm of Wm. Lange for a New York distributor of musical instruments, the Henry Stadlmair Company. Stadlmair owned the Avalon name. In turn, Stadlmair sold your banjo to a dealer, the "Ludwig Music House" in Saint Louis. Ludwig is still in the music business in Mo. under the name Ludwig Aeolian Pianos
