I found out a few months back that ARCO had two styles of the same collection, "12 Beautiful Dolls of the World". Well, I just had to have them, so again, I got really luck and got all twelve for a great price! So, here's my latest addition. I'm still working on completing my Blue Bonnet "Storybook Dolls" collection, but I'm almost there, just 6 dolls shy of all of them. Wish me luck!
I have a full set of the Arco Dolls of the World, all still in the boxes, never taken out but a second to look at and they all have the papers in each box still. I've been trying forever to find out what they are worth! Can somebody please help me?
Thank you so much for any information you can give me.
Hi, tneiss, sorry I didn't respond sooner, busy week! Anyway, being that you have a full set, in box with flyers, the value does go up. But honestly, if you were going to try to sell them on eBay, I've seen them go for as little as $25 for the set (shipping not included) up to $50. It's just strange that some months they go for more, but the best thing is to start out high, naturally. Now on Facebook, there are many doll groups and I've had much better luck selling there. I should ask though, which set do you have? It seems that the 1st version sells at a higher price.
Hello beckame, how do I tell what set I have?
Hello beckame, I just looked at one of them and the paper inside and the paper is exactly like the paper the is shown above that shows all 12 Arco dolls.
Now, to be honest, I'm not 100% sure about these being a "2nd version". The reason I say that is because when my dad bought them for me, they looked different, same country names, but they changed the dresses a little and France no longer came with a basket of flowers. I also found a flyer with this version dated 1971 and I'm reasonably sure my dad got my set before that. Still, both versions are vintage and still so pretty!
