Hand Carved Wooden Spoon 1921

My husband and I found this spoon at a estate sale. We thought it was a really cool item. We don't know anything about it. It is hand carved with lots of details. It is dated 1921 on the back of the handle. It has a "S" carved into the front of the handle. It is 3 colors black, green, and the wooden brown. We would love to have some ideas as to what this spoon is for or something about the history of hand carved spoons like this one. thanks for looking The Hagstroms
