I bought this doll at an estate auction in a small rural community of Southern Indiana. It is extremely unique to me. The joints are held together by metal wire. It is approximately 17 inches.

I would appreciate any information on this doll.

A friend recognized the clothing and said it may be Norwegian or German.

Hi your composition made doll was most likely made in USA . I can not validate the clothes are original to her but many dolls were dressed in ethnic clothes . I was thinking she might be a skater . She should be marked on back of neck it might be under hair and also look on her mid back . She resembles Anna McGuffy doll
1937-1943 Alexander McGuffey Ana doll, 9-22" tall, all composition, sleep eyes (9" doll has painted eyes), open mouth (except for the 11" which has a closed mouth), usually came with a braided wig. Often marked on neck Princess Elizabeth or circle X with 13 on back.
Your doll of coarse needs her face repaired to prevent it fromm further damage . Very cute and check her for marks ok . I will await your reply . It might just look like a raised spot on mid back .

Thanks for the great information. Unfortunately, the doll doesn't have any marking on her body. But, her eyes do open and close.

On compo dolls if at end of molds use before they used a new one the mark would not show up well due to how many times that mold had been used . So it may just look like a raised area . All dolls outside USA had to mark their dolls with country of origin it was import law . She is a USA made doll :-)
