I found this brooch yesterday but because it was so dirty I didn't realize that it had a few dents :( I still think it is a nice addition to my collection even though it is not worth much.
I believe it to be an English brooch, and based on the c-clasp and the design I think it might be from the late 1800's. There are two sets of maker's marks on the back but they are too small and worn to read.
The brooch is about 4 cm in diameter.
Thanks for looking:)
beautiful!!!!!
Thanks a lot, SEAN68, mustangtony, and Moonstonelover21:)
Also many thanks to DrFluffy and vetraio50:)
Very nice! Even a piece that doesn't hold a weighty cash value still has a value of another sort. It affords its possessor moments of joy in an otherwise lackluster day! I don't think there's money enough in this whole world that's comparable to that. I love your pin. The silver is so pretty!
I couldn't agree more, otiamaria! Collecting for me is more about the "hunt" for that special item that might give me some enjoyment, as well as the mystery it hides within. I always wonder why people part from something so old. All the little things I have from my grandmother are so special to me, and I hope that someone, preferably my children, will hang on to them and the stories and history that comes with those pieces.
Thanks for your comment and enjoy your weekend:)
