Of course I'm already a privileged woman touching my jewelry. And in this area, I have not really much wanting more. But a beautiful rock crystal necklace I always like to have. This necklace I found is such an example. Measures 52 cm (20.5 ") beads are 1 cm (0.39") in length, weights a total of 65 grams with an old silver (marked 835) clasp.
The only thing I would want to trade for this necklace is an undrilled rock crystal necklace set in silver. But for now I do it here not so bad!

IN ADDITION TO THE HARDNESS YOU CAN TEST WHETHER YOU ARE DEALING WITH ROCK CRYSTAL. DOES ANYONE HAVE AN EASIER WAY TO TEST THIS??? PLEASE LET ME KNOW !

      Oh mooi hoor!
Dus jij wil ook een 'Pools of light' halssnoer? Ik ben er ook al een tijdje naar op zoek. Geen idee hoe dat in het nl noemt.

Newtimes, thanks for your comment.

Sooner or later you will find one thats right for you.
      Ook een fijn weekend!

      Hi,
Lovely necklace; are the balls strung on silk cord? Easy to identify quartz crystal. Hold up and if you see the background image "upside" down in the balls, then you have quartz crystal is what I have read on other blogs. The drilled ones, it might be harder to see the upside down image as the drill holes interrupt the image, but from you pictures I'm guessing you have quartz crystal. TL

It's hard to tell from the pictures. Let us know!

I just saw a similar necklace listed as vintage glass balls

      http://www.etsy.com/listing/158291715/vintage-glass-ball-necklace-vintage?ref=market

The glass ones are collectable as well.

Well here's another example. This seller these French Blue balls are glass and not crystal, and they show an upside down image, so I guess any concave "lens" will do so.

decogaga, thank you for all the effort you have made to give such detailed commentary. Fantastic! All other jewelry collectors who have the same questions on this subject may find a clue here reading your comment.
And indeed I see after taking a photo of my necklace (difficult to get!) that an inverted image through the beads is not evidence to be real crystal. And yes the balls are strung on silk cord. But after all your effort I don't know up till now if mine are glass or crystal? A difficult matter.
