      I think from the 1920's and its a coin purse for young ladies ..flapper era...very nice! Welcome!

      If anything Indian with the elephant..but that's more the flapper era again. Since England was ruling India at the time...

      I have one of these too, with a lion rather than an elephant. FUCHS & BEIDERHASE of New York made purses with a similar gated (?), lattice (?) opening, but I can't find anything quite the same on the net.
