The Camp Robinson Fireman’s hat badge was made between 1937 to late December 1941. The badge measures 56.78 x 56.92 mm and there are no hallmarks on the back side.
Camp Joseph T. Robinson, Arkansas, which is located near North Little Rock, began as Camp Pike in November 1917 until 1937. The Camp was renamed in honor of Senator Joseph Taylor Robinson, who died on 14 July 1937.
This badge is similar to the Camp Haan badge in that it was worn when the Quartermaster Corps was responsible for the fire prevention operations on all military installations until the responsibility was transferred to the US Army Corps of Engineers on 4 December 1941. The Camp is still active as an Arkansas Army National Guard installation.
