I picked up this older compound bow yesterday for $18.00. I have been trying to research it to find out the maker but have only found a picture of it on the cover of a 1974 Archery World magazine. Previous owner sprayed it with what looks like removeable camo paint which not only covered up its original blue paint but also covered up all markings. Does anyone know the maker of the strange looking bow? It has all the cables and string but I have yet to figure out how to string it up. Also has old pin sights and metal arrow holder marked WIKI -WIKI.

Could be an early Martin bow, or one designed by Larry Nirk of Nirk Archery.

You are right. I just found out from a archery forum that it is made by Martin and model is a Kam - Act MK -2. I guess it is pretty rare.

It is a rare bow for the Archery Collector, I have a similar bow called the "Dyna Bow" is has a recurve limb on top of the riser and a cam on the bottom of the riser.

As far a stringing it up you would need to take it to an Archery Pro Shop, it should be put in a "Bow Press" to compress the limbs. Even then finding a Pro Shop that is familiar with this may be hard to locate. If you do this, I would use caution in shooting it, the limbs over time become unstable and could "blowup" on you when it is shot, this depends on the how the bow was stored prior to you purchasing the bow.
