EBONY & IVORY ELEPHANT & 2 LIONS

Scored at auction yesterday. Even though this had a bad repair job (someone has tried to glue a hairline fracture) I oiled him and he has come up beautifully. I love the capture of the lioness under his foot and the Lion with Mane on his back. a couple of pieces of ivory missing but does not distract from this lovely 1800's piece of ebony. A very heavy piece weighing 1.96 KG OR 4 1/2 LBS
I got it fairly cheap so may invest in having him restored professionally. he came with another elephant which is an ashtray.I will sell him to offset the cost....lol
