I recently aquired this bike and a Schwinn ladies bike that were in a lady's garage. I haven't been able to find anything about it. There is a label above the sprocket and pedal section that says Murray Ohio Mfg. Co, Lawrenceburg (?), TN (it's hard to see the writing because of where the label is) and there's a 10-83 # after that. Could that be the production year? Everything I have read about Hiawathas says they were only made until early 70's.
There's also another # on the fork: M036941-30J9660396. What is that #?
The tires are new (old) because they still have the ridges on them! I think they look so sturdy that if I put a new tube in them, I will be able to ride it?
Also the pedals are like new. Everything is, for that matter, seat, cables, gears, sprocket, rear rack, handlebars/handles, paint, etc.
