This piggy bank was given to me by my Mom for my eighth birthday (May 28, 1958). Comparing the glaze colors to Hull piggy banks of the 1950's, it seems very similar, but I can't find a photo of this piggy bank anywhere on-line.

My piggy bank is about 10.75 inches from the base to the tallest ear tip and about 6 inches round. It has a lid with a small keyed lock that opens to remove the coins. It is in pristine condition -- no chips anywhere.

Does anyone know if this is a Hull piggy bank, or who the manufacturer may be if not Hull? Any ideas as to the value? I probably will never sell it, but am just curious about an approximate auction value.

I also have a very small (4.25 x 2.25 x 2.25 inches) companion piece in the same glaze colors that I picked up at a local thrift shop a few years ago for $1.50. Does it also look like Hull pottery?

I can't find any identifying marks on either pig pot.

    Thanks for any info!

According to a book "Collector's Guide to Banks Identification & Values" by Jim & Beverly Mangus, this piggy bank was made my American Bisque Co./American Pottery Co. I also have one. The padlock is missing. It is marked USA 912 on the bottom.
