When I first purchased it I thought it was an inkwell but now I am having my doubts, I'm hoping someone can help.

Seems to be an ornate Candle burner. Just a Guess.

You don't specify how big it is but it could be for spices like a mini-ginger jar. RER (BOB)

I would estimate the piece is about 3 1/2 inches tall and about 4 inches in diameter. It looks like wood but it's ceramic and possibly some type of metal on the inside. I hope that might help.

Am I seeing things or is that a person on the inside, it gives that effect & if it was larger it could be a cookie vase. Could it be a miniature.

No not a person! It actually looks like a imprint of some type of insect or butterfly maybe something with wings

Okay so I'm not seeing things I like that idea & I still only have that one suggestion.
