Posting this up hoping someone can tell me a little more about it.

The label (what's left of it) says New Haven Clock Company. It is an 8 day clock with chimes. It works and ticks away happily.

What is interesting to me is the way it has the front façade, almost like it was added later. Gives it a very "folk art" vibe.

The gentle man I got it from said it was at least 50 years old as he got it from his dad and remembered it from his youth.

    Any info is appreciated.

I just rebuilt one of these a couple months ago for a friend, very nice piece you've got. Bruce 99 sent me the model of that one, yours is a tad different that the one I had posted, but it's along the same era. New Haven Kitchen clock from around the turn of the century. I sure Bruce will chime in and tell yo just which model it is.

Thanks, a quick search turned up an article on the New Haven Clock Co. in the CW archives. A model would be nice if I could find that out.

Hi, your clock is referred to as a Wood Case Mantel Clock in a style that is commonly known as a "Gingerbread" or "Kitchen" Clock. Your model was named "A" in New Haven's "Norwich Line". The Norwich Line was offered in either Oak or Walnut with at least three different patterns designated as simply: A, B & C. Your clock is from circa 1907. Depending upon the type of movement and whether or not it had an alarm (Kitchen Clock) it retailed for $4.50 up to $5.40. Clock dealers could order Six Clocks (two of each pattern at a list price of $23.00 to $28.40 again depending upon the type of movement.

Here's another "A" which recently sold at auction for $90: http://p2.la-img.com/289/32831/13293293_1_l.jpg

      Here's a "B" which sold for $125: http://p2.la-img.com/275/686/313632_1_l.jpg

      And finally a "C" which sold for $135: http://p2.la-img.com/289/40272/17276576_1_l.jpg

Hope this helps. Thanks for sharing your clock with the CW Community.
