I spotted this Taxco bracelet at a thrift store a while back and loved its braided vine design. It wasn't until much later that I thought to look into it. I'm only able to make out a Taxco mark but am unable to make anything else out. It was very tarnished but not green in any spots so i don't think its brass. Can anyone help?
Taxco was a Mexican brand of silver making..very collectable and sought after.
Thank you moonstone for your help! Does the Taxco mean it's made of silver? Thank you bratjdd,Sean,Phil, and DrFluffy for the love:)
Taxco is actually a city in Mexico with a long history of silversmithing. There was a very rich mine near there so the price of silver was low so lots of jewelry came from there.
These twisted bracelets are very common, probably made by a bunch of different smiths too so it would be difficult to pinpoint one. Probably silver though
Thank you stillwater, you've really been a big help:)
Thank you freiheit:)
